The Go-betweens

The Go-Betweens è stata una band australiana di indie rock formatasi a Brisbane nel 1977. La band è stata fondata da Robert Forster e Grant McLennan, che sono stati i principali cantanti e compositori del gruppo.

La band ha pubblicato il loro album di debutto, Send Me a Lullaby, nel 1981, seguito da altri album di successo come Before Hollywood nel 1983 e 16 Lovers Lane nel 1988. Il sound distintivo della band mescolava melodie orecchiabili con testi poetici e sofisticati.

I Go-Betweens si sono sciolte nel 1989, ma si sono riuniti nel 2000 per registrare The Friends of Rachel Worth. Purtroppo, Grant McLennan è scomparso nel 2006, mettendo fine alla band.

Curiosità: I Go-Betweens sono stati considerati una delle band indie rock più influenti degli anni '80 e hanno avuto un impatto duraturo sulla scena musicale. Hanno influenzato numerosi artisti, tra cui Belle and Sebastian, Sleater-Kinney e The Decemberists.
