The Cruel Sea

The Cruel Sea è una band australiana di surf rock e rockabilly formata a Sydney nel 1987. La band è composta da Tex Perkins (voce), Dan Rumour (chitarra), Jim Elliott (chitarra), Ken Gormly (basso) e Freddie Mercer (batteria).

La band ha ottenuto un grande successo in Australia negli anni '90, con album come This Is Not the Way Home del 1991 e The Honeymoon Is Over del 1993. La loro musica è caratterizzata da un mix di surf rock, rockabilly, blues e garage rock, con testi cupi e atmosfere oscure.
