Anthrax

Gli Anthrax sono una band heavy metal formata a New York nel 1981. Sono considerati uno dei gruppi più influenti del genere thrash metal degli anni '80 e '90.

La formazione originale includeva Scott Ian (chitarra), Dan Lilker (basso), Dave Weiss (batteria) e John Connelly (voce). Nel corso degli anni, la band ha subito diversi cambiamenti di formazione.

Curiosità su Anthrax:

• Il nome della band è stato scelto dal chitarrista Scott Ian, che era un grande fan di Stephen King e ha preso spunto dal romanzo "L'incendiaria" in cui compare un virus chiamato "Antrace".
• Gli Anthrax sono stati una delle prime band metal a collaborare con artisti hip-hop, come Public Enemy nel brano "Bring the Noise".
• La band ha vinto diversi premi, tra cui un Grammy Award nel 1992 per la miglior interpretazione metal con la canzone "I'm the Man".
